Pop Up Market, Dec 5th!

 Island Brewing Company will host a Pop Up Market, December 5th, 1-5 pm. We'll be featuring a bevy of local artists, vendors, bakers, crafts people and more. There will also be a food truck and live local music. "Island Brewing Company has a history of supporting local artists through our art wall. This would be essentially an extension of that," says owner and founder Paul Wright. "It's been something that we've been planning on doing for a long time. Now that we have the expansion open, we're looking forward to doing some fun things with the extra room and looking forward to a fun and creative afternoon." Island Brewing Company Seeks Cellar Person

Have a unique knowledge and passion for craft beer? Consider yourself a quick learner? Detail orientated and like heavy lifting? Dream of revealing among stainless steel tanks wafting in the artisanal glory that is a brew day? Then this could be for you:

We're hiring!

Island Brewing Company seeks a full time cellar person. This position is available for an individual passionate about craft beer.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

*Cleaning Kegs

*Racking Kegs

*Assisting with bottling

*Having a positive, passion filled work attitude

*Coming to work on time, not missing shifts, covering shifts on own accord

*Performing misc. tasks suck as cleaning, stocking shelves, etc.

*Assisting on Brew Day

*CIP of fermentation vessels and bright tanks

*Upkeep and cleanliness of cellar, completing brewery cleaning check-off list

*Beer transfer

*Beer sensory evaluation

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

*Enjoy physically demanding work environment

*Self motivation

*Outgoing personality

*Hard working mentality

*Strict attention to detail

*Strong knowledge of the brewing process

*Ability to understand and follow SOPs

*Working to high quality standards without direct supervision

*Ability to lift 55 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly

*Ability to maneuver beer kegs (165 lbs)

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

*Experience working in production with another brewery

*Formal brewing education

*4-year degree in a science field

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, attention to cleanliness, a willingness to work hard and take on new responsibilities as needed, an ability to multitask, and an eagerness to learn and continue learning.
